Egyptian Air Force Tu-16G

My old 1/72 scale Trumpeter Tu-16 G kit.

The Tu-16 kit is built almost straight from the box with some minor changes of my own (cockpit, landing gear...). The "RICA" antenna is scratchbuilt from styrene, it is necessary to make this antenna for Egyptian Air Force Tu-16G ("Rica" was used for guiding "Kelt" and "Kingfish" missile).
Egyptian Air Force mostly armed Tu-16Gs with AS-5 Kelt missle but after the 1973y. Yom Kippur war they recive only a few AS-6 Kingfish. Assembly and fitting is good with no major problems but dry-fitting is necessary especially to center engine compartments in the same line. Panel lines required rescribing at the wings area.
Clear parts are made in good quality, I paint them in smoke grey for more realystic look. Guide for painting upperside of the model was a Humbrol H74, H78, H98 but in a Gunze color chart. Underside color is life color Fs 35450 "Air superiority blue". Oil colors and dry pastels are used for weathering.I really enjoyed building this interesting kit from Trumpeter.

All the best!
Dusan.
